A cool, easy action is behind us!
This event was "sniffed out" for us by Doky´s pack - 36. tourist walk "Koberovy Footprints".
Saturday morning is misty and wet, but it´s not raining, so we are picked up by Doky´s car to be in a half an hour unloaded in Koberovy village near Zelezny Brod. We chose the longest, yet reasonable distance 15km, get the map and although the route markings are quite clear, it takes us some time to find a right direction :o
The spring air is fresh and the dogs are pulling well, so in a while we are at "The Violet crossroad" with the real violets along the path, and without thinking we head for the ruins of Rotstejn castle. We climbe on the ruins and when looking into the map again we realize, that this visit extended our trip by 3km :o
But there is definitely nothing to be sorry about, so we return to the crossroad and through the village Vesec we continue slowly up the hill "Kozakov". A steep path to the top is quite hard, but the sandstone rocks, the pine scent and the hillsides covered with the bright green bilberry leaves compensate the short of breath.
Finally we reach the top of Kozakov, the sky becomes clear slowly, but the view isn´t good yet. We replenish our water supply and go on. Many people have their dogs with them which is a great socialization :) We come down to the refreshment tent on the vast meadow to get something to eat and share the grilled chicken with our dogs. The wind finally disperses the clouds, so we enjoy walking through the sunlit pastures with the view on the Giant Mountains, still covered with the snow.
After a pleasant descent and straight roads between the fields there comes last, but "killing" pitch and then we just enjoy the journey along the ridge and the view of the Bohemian Paradise, the Luzicke Mountains, the Jested ridge, the Jizera Mountains and the Giant Mountains - all at once!
The ridge drops off steeply to rocky path to Koberovy. This part is pretty hard for me due to my knee pain - how can I manage 40km in August, when my knee hurts after 15km :?
But, we are back in Koberovy again and Kazi can just relax in the grass ...
Thanks a lot to Doky´s pack for nice and relaxed walk through the Bohemian Paradise :)
