The Fourth Spring Dogtrekking Games in Polabi

Every year I hesitate our participation in this event, but at the beginning of the year I start watching the organizer´s website, if the games are going to be held again and I´m sending an application as one of the first :)))

This year we chose the track 23,6 km which placed us into the most popular category, so there is no chance for any better place :o Nevermind, we take it as a nice walk ... well, there is no other chance anyway :)))

We arrive to already known starting point in the River Baths Jizerka and the thermometer shows 2,5 Degrees Celsius. We are afraid of cold weather, but have no idea that we´ll miss the shorts :o Beside other breeds there are a lot of the Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dogs and about 15 Chodsky dogs. Kazi is thrilled to be here and he whistles all the time. There is more than an hour to our start, so he´s got plenty of time to calm down :))) Doky´s pack couldn´t come, so we go with the Catahoula Keri.

We easily reach and go through the Stara Boleslav and the nice, but hot weather is getting hard for us. Kazi still has his winter underfur and is one of the shaggiest teddies here. We stop for a while meantime the Keri´s pack continues, so we go on alone. In the forest we walk in shade, but on the open dusty roads we put our clothes off.

We arrive to the Hlavenec village and despite the heat we´re heading to monumental baroque memorial to get the bonus time. New houses in its neighborhood spoil the impression a bit, but the place definitely worths the visit. The sun burns, so we go on.

We climb on road through the village to its highest point - the temperature around 20 Degrees Celsius gives the impression of summer day, but there are the snowdrops in the grass and the trees without the leafs. Through nice forest roads and across the highway bridge we go, Kazi hunts the mice at the edge of the road, so I stop being sorry for him, as he´s got evidently enough energy. When walking on the hot asphalt road through the Podbrahy village, we make for Kazi a refreshing stop by the river. The riverbed is full and the flow is pretty strong.

We pass the cottages and gardens on the banks of Jizera river and here´s the finish. 2 missing answers in the test mean plus 20 minutes to our real time, so our final position is in the second half of the result list :o Well, I have again the whole year to think about our participation next year, because there are a few things which bothers me a bit ... but we´ll be there anyway, I can see that :))))
